Trifecta tune

Ok, I have a person who can tune my car (2.4 SS). I know nothing bout tuning or mods really. I just know i would like some more power!! Especially down low. So, do I need to buy some mods like intake and exhaust before I do the tune? By the way, I did use the search button, Just couldnt find what I was looking for. What kind of power can I expect with a tune? Any tips would be appreciated, like I said, I know nothing. If it had a V8 then maybe I would know more. I am an old school camaro man. Thanks guys!

I have a 2.4 G5 GT and yes your gunna wanna do some other mods first such as intake, header, downpipe and exhaust. Once you get those mods done then tune it. Also do you have a manual or auto tranny?

if you plan to mod it perfomance wise then wait until you are done then get it tuned. The trifecta tune is deff good power for the money, its a mod where you will notice a difference in power nothing crazy but enough to know. I have an auto so i had the tune also tune my tranny for firmer quicker shifts which also is good to make up some time.

I totally agree my car is auto as well and went with Trifecta and was very pleased with the results. Well worth the money for the performance you get.

Mine is a 5 speed. So, with the mods described and a tune, will that make a big difference. Is it worth it to do all those mods as far as bang for buck goes?

Yes its definately worth it. Thats why you should do the mods first then the tune last. The tune will also help you get the most out of your mods.

Honestly man, theres soo many great companys that make parts for the cobalt its really comes down to personal preference. However I can tell what I got for my car. For the intake I went with the k&n typhoon intake, for my header and downpipe I went with a company called clearimage auto. And for my exhaust I decided to go custom with the cti 2.5 inch over the axel kit along with a dynomax super turbo muffler. But like I said theres soo many option for these cars that your best bet is to search this site and reaserch before you actually make your purchases. Heres a good site where you can get alot of these parts and many others.

If you really want a good bang for your buck go boosted and get a full exhaust system. I mean I did tune a na 2.4 with pretty much full bolt ons and the power pick up was there for sure. Not saying we pulled vets or anything.

im a 2.2 auto with intake only and im tuned. it never hurts to get tuned at anytime. of course the more mods the more power but a retune doesnt cost much.

Clear image makes a really great product. I have full stainless header to catback 3". Workmanship and customer service are excellent, you cant go wrong with them!
