I agree, they already put a 'cobalt-ish' engine in the Malibu LTZ so I don't think it's a problem for them to do it, I think it's a matter of when.

And when I say "Cobalt-ish" I just mean 2.0L, Turbo and HP/TQ ratings. I don't know how similar it is to the LNF engine other than those mentioned earlier.

I'm putting my money on 2015. GM is re-tooling their Lordstown, OH plant. Word on the street is that whatever car being built there will have a completely new platform, maybe even crossover applications. But with Ford already having the ST, Dodge coming out with the Dart SRT4 next year, Chevy has to come out with something. Isn't it just like them to be LAST and to copy off what everyone else is doing?

What did they do?! Not even a manual option.

Why spend millions on something maybe 5% of the customers want and most of them will still be ok with the automatic?

True, I'm actually a guy that would rather have an automatic at this point in my life. Though I love my manual transmission right now, I hate it at times too.

I hate it especially downtown when I go to school and traffic is a pain.

I've always bought manual trans cars but my wife wouldn't go for that and its a 4 door sedan. Its going to see family use which would also be more auto friendly for most people.

Isn't that what Impalas and Malibus are for? I mean they do have SS options for those as well....... Bring back sport compact with manual trans for those who don't want another impala/malibu with a different name.

Agreed. Not saying that the vehicle has to be strictly manual but what is so hard about keeping manual as an option? Manual transmissions are cheaper and less complex anyway.

What about a double clutch automatic sport compact. Similar to the EVO and GTI
