I was looking at the Chevy Cruze and I won't lie, its a lot better than I imagined, so if the SS Cruze does infact exist... well it's hard to say I wouldn't, but this would be years after my car is paid off, we're talking (hopefully) 10 years from now.

They would need an entire engineering staff to even come close ..
I still wonder what this bitch would run around the ring with NT05's fully tuned and bolted ..

I see one every month or something like that and they are usually the same people.
But aftermarket support comes with more units sold I believe.

No on both accounts.
I could have afforded another car when I bought my Cobalt - but I bought the Cobalt becasue of:
the Cruze & Buick, both weight significantly more, and it just goes downhill from there.
I mean the current top dog engine in the Cruze is what 140hp!? - that's pathetic, I'd rather have a 150hp 95+ J-body...
the other car I was considering was the Challenger RT;
sure it isn't as fast out of the box as my Cobalt, but the complete package is a sweet car, and the 370 hp/398 lbˇft torque would be sufficient for a daily driver to me.
At the end of the day, the Cobalt was a more economical choice... even if I still kinda lust after any 'B5 Blue' Challenger RT 'Classic' I see...
IMHO, the Buick with the revised LNF, only exists because GM is trying to make Buicks appeal to the old Pontiac enthusiasts, but making something of an upscale fun car... but it's all fail in my books.

- cars size & weight
- 4cyl (economic DD)
- LNF (respectable power from the get-go)

even if they release a Cruze SS with a revised version of the LNF backed by a six speed;
The car weighs more - why would I go and waste money (because I'd loose a otn on flipping my Cobalt) on a car only because it's a newer one...
If it was about the same size and churned out in excess of 300hp, I'd consider it...
but that's highly unlikely.
Another thing to think about is, at this time the 6 speed transmissions offer about the same mileage as our five speeds.
The six speeds are referred to as a high friction design ~ which pretty much negates the need for the extra gear - but they are offered because there's the inherent "wow" factor of it having an extra gear (much like the older Corvette 4+1 transmissions; they had wow factor back in the day.)
Notice that GM offered them for something like one year in the G6-GT?
My brothers Caliber SRT gets a little worse mileage than my Cobalt... you would think that with the extra gear it should at least get the same mileage (considering hte extra couple hundred pounds it has)... but it doesn't.

cruze ss? yes please. the cruze is a decent looking car... im sorry... i love my cobalt... but it was lacking something style wise that i think the cruze has potential for... i think the cruze has a bit more class... and an SS cruze would look mean... as for its weight... it has been shown to only weigh like what... 400lbs more? not a whole lot if you ask me... and an updated version of the LNF would make up for that easy... so i say HELL YES i would buy a CRUZE SS...
