Test Drove Cruize today.

Hey so today I came across a GM event and seen the 2011 Chevy cruize parked there, they were offering 3 test drives and in the end you got a gas card. So I took the cruize out first. It was the 4 door Rs Turbo model. Car looks amazing, I big change from the Cobalt. Had great interior and a good easy to use Nav System. With the lady with me we took it out on the Highway. Acceleration was quick and the turbo really helped. She was telling me that they are making a 2 door for 2012. She didnt know for sure if it would be and SS or LTz. I tried to take some pictures but i forgot my phone at the house. All I know is Chevy is getting back to what they do best. The cruize will be a Successful vehicle. I also got to take out the 2011 Camaro and 2011 Cadillac CTS.

Also she said Pricing would be CAN Base Model start at 14555 and higher models being up for 28700.

I know that is Canadian dollars but damn that's a broad price range for an economy car.

It is but it isn't lol. It just depends on what the car has at the top end of the spectrum. Just look at subaru, the base impreza starts at $17,500 and the STi is $35,000. Same thing with the base lancer vs the evo.

If they ended up making an SS with a potent engine and whatnot I could see it happening, who knows if that will happen though.

If they don't put the LNF or the engine slated to end up in the new Regal GS, then It'd be laughable to charge 28,700 for it.

Well your dealers are pretty messed up then lol. never heard of a dealer charging that much for a ss/tc. hell i got my 2010 for much less then the sticker price. average person buys there ss/tc for around 18-22 ish. even if they do come out with an ss version. it'll be way too expensive for my college student pocket lol but i bet it will be sweet. i think chevy is tyring to get into the evo and sti territory. with the base cruze starting at basically 17k (says so on chevy's website) i bet the ss with awd and such will be at least 28k

just noticed your in canada lol sorry. dont really know what the average price of a cobalt is up there lol

I agree with you on the new cruze. After seeing them around here, ive really grown to like them. Good looking car all around. The backend looks 10x better in person. I haven't sat in one but one i was checking out in the parking lot had had a nice interior. If a 2 door version does come out, im pretty sure there will be an ss version.

I felt the engine was underpowered... I would have gotten the N/A... for such a big vehicle and weight... it needed more hp / tq... the turbocharged model isnt bad... but it should have some extra power as well... a 10 second 0-60 is a bit much

Test drove an LT turbo and the N/A 1.8L today with a friend that is looking for a new car soon, the 1.4L is definatly quieter and smoother, and has more torque on low end, but seem about the same on top end...

The turbo engine definalty worth the extra cash imo.

Both were 6 speed automatic , they are still waiting on the Eco version wich include the 6 speed manual transmission...

With a tune the little 1.4L should be fun for what it is. It look like a great car, fun to drive, look good and well made, definatly make my cobalt look old now!....

The price tag seem a bit high for the turbo version, should have some more pony for that price...

but im used to my tuned LNF so most car in that range feels pretty slow... lol
