Meh 11.5-12.2 works well normally. 20 psi 15* of timing and 11.8 A/F would be a good start.

yea thats kinda what i was figuring should be interesting to see what happens when the car gets tuned. IMO it'll be a big gain or not much at all lol i would think it should be a decent gain but only time will tell depends on how that turbo likes running at 20 psi lol anyone have a compressor map for that turbo?

Small motor very small turbo but it should gain a good percentage of total power. I do not think it is going to gain as much power has a LNF with a tune but it should be more fun to drive for sure.

I'm sure it could see 150whp do full boltons and tune it maybe 165 to the wheels. Just not fast enough for my taste. Oh Vince I need to send you my Dyno chart, totally forgot.

The buick turbo regal is where it's at
The cruze isn't that bad. Saw one in person it's nice inside and out performance wise sucks but hey look at it this way for anybody who has to downgrade at least you can still have a little Eco box that's turbo and tune it.

So basically gm gave up with the 4 cyl performance, and has released a great DD for the ZR1.

If you could get to roughly 145-150 whp, you could be about in line with a lightly bolted and tuned 2.2 cobalt. Only it's would cost about an 1/5th as much in mods.

development will take time but ive seen first hand gmpd developing what APPEARS to be an LNF or a varient thereof in the cruze as well as big brakes. of course plan to pay 30 grand for all that...

If thats the reality, then so be it. The 2.2 wasn't designed with performance in mind either.

the only thing that saves it, is the interior and stereo system. **** for power. transmission is very slow to shift in either direction. vibrates way too much at idle.

Realistically this is about where it will end up, I suspect. Percentage-wise, LNFs typically gain about 25% power, and this is because we spin the turbo at the same speed at lower elevation as it might spin at, say 12000 feet to still make 260HP at the crank. From the factory's perspective, that's the whole tuning principal - make it perform consistently.

The turbo runs about 75% of "max wastegate" right now. Another 25% might get us close to 22psi or so.

Hence, 121.2 (stock WHP) * 1.25 = 151.5 WHP

HOWEVER, the LUJ is NOT tuned as aggressively as the LNF is from the factory, so gains could possibly be bigger than 25%. We shall see. Hopefully I'll find out on Friday!

I was a bit surprised it is port injected, myself, but maybe GM met their design goals for economy and power without DI (which adds extra cost)

Yes, the Regal will be one sweet machine (and fully flex fuel/E85 capable from the factory!). We're excited about getting our hands on those, too. We have someone lined up that's getting a Regal next month that will work with us on the tune.
