How can you tell someone is running N20?
How can you tell someone is running N20?
So I raced a guy the other day and started thinking about the way he immediately pulled on me for about 2 car lengths and then seemed like he ran out of power because his engine was bogged as I later passed him like he couldn't go any faster. So I started wondering if he was running nitrous. What's a sure way to tell if someone is running nitrous oxide?

Usually with NOS shot, the car will seem to lurch forward when he pulls the trigger.
Your car should be pretty FU$$$N quick given your sig. If he wasn't on the bottle..that must have been one fast *****!
^ ROFLOL... Ok seriously though
OP what were you racing? If it was a ZR-1 or a Carrera twin turbo, or a Skylne GT-r it's gonna pull you like you are standing still when stock. If it was a honda ex hatch then yes it had nos.

it usually goes the other way. usually you start passing him and then he jumps off you. if he was spraying the whole time he would have jumped out and stayed out unless he jumped well you were spooling
It was a newer body 4.6l stang with some stuff done to it. Could tell by the sound. Loud exhaust/intake. And I hope you're joking about the flames shooting out.

4.6 kits place the spraybar (fogger bar) behind the TB in a spacer and the fuel is tapped off the rail's schrader valve. That is pretty much EVERY kit out there I can think of off the top of my head uses some combination of the above. Same goes for the truck kits. It's either a 75 shot or 100, and if it seemed like he ran out of steam it's pretty likely his fuel pressure dropped from the increased flow. When you first turn it on it's alright but the extra flow drops the fuel pressure from 38-42 down into the high 20s, and that'll make the car lose steam and/or melt something. And different years means different pressure, some where 59psi at idle in some years others were 38, all depends.
I thought he was spraying because he pulled hell hard from the start, then just kind of putted out like he ran out of what ever power adder he had. I was still climbing in 4th when he was bogged out.
dumb
depends, what gear were you in?
he could have 4:11 in the stang, that would slow his top end down, but if i had 4:11 i wouldnt roll race, i don;t roll race with the balt, that aint racing!

I was in 2nd. It is very possible he had diff gearing. But if his gears were low like that, wouldn't it just rev out?
Not always true, mine you would of never saw on my honda or found, and on a buddys gto youll never know unless he tells you, let alone he leaves you when he runs bottom 11s in the 1/4
