does it hit the hood or whatever made the injen have the stupid dimple? I want a 3 inch powdercoated black.

I think they should have tested it on a stock car. your stage 2 flash may allow for bigger tolerances then a stock car. in turn not giving you a cel where a stock car would get one.

Plenty of clearance under the hood, we checked to make sure a few times that it cleared.

I honestly don't know if I would put a 3" intake on a stock car. It's a little of a stretch for me with the Stage 2, but the TB is 3" so it just didn't seem right to taper it down. Plus, I am putting NGK's, a 2.79" pulley, and getting some dyno tuning done in the spring. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt a stock car. The more mods you put on, the more benefit you will see from a large intake like this. Just my .02 cents...

Dropped the intake back off to be powdercoated this weekend. We made a few adjustments and whatnot to make fitment even better. Mainly, bringing it a little bit more away from those brake lines while maintaining the clearance we needed. Plans are still set to go pick it up over Thanksgiving weekend when it's completely finished.

Now, with the stock intake back on, I can gaurantee that it lost a bit of breath on the top end. And the sound, well, I just plain ol' miss it. This intake definately is top notch and the gains have to be up there with the best of them. If possible, sometime down the road, I may try to get before/after dynos. But it all depends on price and how the shop reacts to me wanting to toy around a little bit when I get my dyno tune over the spring/summer. We'll just have to see how I sit financially in 6 months or so. If I can, I will.

Whelp, in another two weeks I'll get you guys (and girls) pictures of the finished product. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Still waiting on the powdercoat...

...Hopefully I'll be picking it up soon. The intake is on their website now but they changed powdercoaters because they found a local one and Ryan likes to support local business. So, we're waiting a little bit longer to get it from a local vendor...

Trust me, I'll let everyone know when it's complete and installed. There will be more pics and everything. I'll tell ya what, I miss that intake everyday since I had to take it out...

Whelp,

Got the intake installed Saturday. Took pictures and all but I have to d/l them off the camera tonight (Boo work). Intake looks gorgeous, especially the powdercoat. We modified it a little before sending it off to be powdercoated. Just made sure that clearance was top notch. There is no fender well buldge, whatsoever! There is plenty of hood clearance as well. This intake sounds mean too.

I will upload the pictures tonight and get a video of it on the road next week probably. I plan on doing a little video on my way out to get my cams installed, for a "before and after" kinda thing. Once again, I am happy as a pig in **** with the way this turned out. I will leave the rest up to RD Fabs. I'm just a happy customer and friend...

What up Edubs? I remember seeing your intake at the New England meet. That intake was nicely done.

So you went powder coat this time hah? Can't wait to see pics.

Yeah, I was talking to Ryan at RD about it, and I've always wanted my engine bay to look clean and a little stealthy. The intake blends in well, but if you know anything about cars, it would be one of the first things you would notice. Probably won't affect the price of the intake either, because they normally polish the stainless, which takes a lot of time. So just scotch-briting the intake and sending it to get powdercoated will not take as much time for them; hence, not much of a price difference for those who want color over "The Shininess."

Pictures I promised...pictures I will deliver!

Sorry for it being dirty. It's winter and I didn't see any point in cleaning it off.

Only modification is to take out one of three screws behind the drivers side headlight that is mounted soley to hold a wire that passes along the engine bay. We took it out to make sure the screw didn't scratch up the intake. There is no cutting the engine bay, fender liner or anything like that. Thanks for the input. I have videos but they're big and I'm having a tough time getting them hosted somehwere...

i had to cut a bit when i had the jbp 3 inch, that fit horribly all over i later found out so i went injen.
yours looks like it fits much better than the rest of the 3 inches out there.

I have a video of us installing it. Took literally ten seconds to slide it from the fender well into the engine bay. This install only takes 15 minutes with the stock intake out...

Fits amazing!

This is what you need to take a chisel to. Nothing much at all for modification to have a 3 inch intake.

I'm having trouble getting the two videos up on streetfire or youtube. Anyone think they could help. I can't really get to the videos until I go home for lunch at 2:00 though...

Let us know when he starts to sell these. It looks top notch. Will he have problems mass producing these?

WOW $215. Yes it is cheaper than some but if he could have made it cheaper than $200 then he would be raking in the orders.

These are all custom made by hand. A lot of time and experience goes into making these. I think they're worth every penny compared to the other available intakes.

Yes they are cheaper but how long will it take hime to make one and ship it. Plus if he gets alot of orders he will back up and quality might suffer to get the product out.

Product never suffers when it comes to Ryan. He is a perfectionist. Plus they just got a new member in the shop. I think you're being a little pesimistic here. If you have questions or concerns, then e-mail Ryan or Chris. That's your best bet.

I don't see where the MAF plugs into?
You obviously know nothing about fluid dynamics. A 3" pipe flowing into a 2.5" will net a higher mass flow rate going through the smaller tube. Think about it. It is the same principle of putting your finger over the nozzle of a hose. The water comes out faster...

that's only true with the case that there is a pressure being put on the larger diameter.
in this case, were dealing with vacume from a smaller diameter, which only ensures that there will be air for it to suck in.

but that all doesn't matter since the TB inlet is roughly 3" anyways
