Another Turbo Cobalt just about on the road

Thats right. I now am almost just about done with my Turbo swap. I started working on this around last February, and spent about 6-7 months on just research alone before buying a single part. After having quite a bit of help and a few custom parts made, I'm just about ready to get it out on the road.

Heres a quick few pics

I made a big mistake in one of the oil fittings I got though, so I have to wait until I get that fixed before I can really get going with things. Right now if I was to start it again, it'll just dump oil. Oh well, my dumb ass fault. I should have paid more attention to the littlest things as well...

The car started up, kinda rough at first, and then smoothed out. I've got a great friend and tuner helping me out with a lot of this stuff, and I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am without his help.

Hopefully I'll have it in somewhat running condition coming the SEE BBQ this weekend. If your in southeastern Michigan, you should come on by. It's May17th at 1pm at Kensington Metro Park. PM me for any questions/more details!

Took a lot of time and effort, but so worth it. Like I said I also had a lot of help and good people to ask questions

Wow nice work! That manifold is awesome from what we can see.

What turbo are you using? This setup looks identical to 06Black's original one for the most part.

GT30 with .63 turbine housing seems to be a popular turbo...I don't feel so special anymore but niCe build....you are keeping the stock heat exchanger? No air to air intercooler?

I had no experience with turbos at all when I got started a year ago. Probably one of the big reasons I wanted to spend so much time just researching first.

As far as working on the car, I've done pretty much everything on my car either on my own or with a couple people to help. I've done a couple clutches on others since then too. I used to run a 2.5in pulley and everything that went with it. When I got the car I had almost no experience, and probably only changed my oil on my own once before.

Theres a pretty good reason it looks the same. We worked together on a lot of it. He was the one who got me into the idea in the first place, and the biggest help I've had since then.

We both kinda went our separate ways on a couple ideas about halfway through, but the original idea still kinda shows in both.

For now. That'll change later on, but for now it'll be staying like this for a little while. I'm wanting to fully finish this build before I get too far into planning the next...

Now when you say southeaster Michigan for the meet, where AT exactly? I travel from Ypsi to Toledo everyday for work, so if it's somewhere around 23S I'd come down.

Regardless, that looks to be one HELL of a set up. Grats on the build.
