If it will take a 600 hp V8 then it might take a 600 hp LNF but remember when the turbos wheel up there is a massive torque spike that does not happen in a normal na motor (no nitrous) I am suprised the stock sky trans will support more than 450 wtrq though.

I agree, but there is also the fact that the LNF would make less torque than HP, so we would be looking at lower 500's torque IMO. We only use the stock trans on our lower rated kits with the LS3's (approx 400-450whp). When we get up to the higher power levels we offer a T56, and most people opt for that (in fact all of them thus far).

Sorry, both wheels and car are filthy. And I'm sorry that the car is up on the lift....so the photos might not satisfy what you really wanted to see (how the car sits on the wheels. The wheels are better looking in person, since the angle of the CONCAVE Forgrestar F-14 wheels can be seen better.

But here are the photos

Finally removed the transmission and will be sending every part to be CRYO-TREATED by Cryogenic Treatment, Cryo Treatment, Deburring & Deflashing Spec Flywheel and pressure plate will also Cryo-treated. Engine will be pulled out tonight!

SPEC clutch and Rear Differential will be dropped off tomorrow for cryo-treatment. I'll pick them up Tuesday afternoon, and drop them off at SMG

Aeroforce helped me out and sent me a Pyrometer kit and a pair of EGT probes. Never even realized that they were available til Project Scarab mentioned them. Thank you to both!

Just picked them up today!

Last year, I tried having my intercooler sprayer be annodized red, but the nice color easily faded away due to the harsh conditions (rocks/chips, rain, heat, etc) it faces every single day. This time, I had it powdercoated RED, and it will be more durable.

The stock driveshaft and the DSS rear axles were sprayed with Thermoplastic Spray and also clear coated. This will make sure that they'll no longer have surface rust.

I don't know how I didn't see this thread until now....

The plans are very impressive and should produce a sick car!

Hope everything comes together as planned!

Thanks guys!

The build is a bit slow, since it is not just an engine build, we are also upgrading almost all the weak links of the drivetrain. Plus of course, we'll be the first one to do a compound turbo set up on this platform, so lots of trial and error.......and LOTS OF TUNING needed.

Then I'm also planning to have a new paint job after the build

Thanks!

Yes, its the original rear differential.

If it doesn't hold up. I'll get a quaiffe LSD, and have it cryo-treated.

You have that 07 solstice?

I used to drive my sky during winter for about 2 years. As long as you have winter tires.....they go anywhere!

nice!!!

hope to see a new "spike's build thread" with your new kappa!

also, if you wana join KappaPerformance.com ....its a great forum for kappas. BS and hating are not allowed there....the owner of the forum is strict, and won't tolerate such behaviors. So it's really a good place to just learn more about the platform

FLASHING UPDATE

communicated with BTF last night.

We are both following this guy from Finland using his BMW motor. I am not really sure what size his small turbo is...but his big turbo is GT4788r. He is getting TOO much back pressure, and the COMPOUND Turbo geniuses, think that the GT4788 (although already a big turbo)....is too small for his set-up. He is getting 40psi of back pressure with 28psi

So BTF was recommending me to upgrade the GT4094r turbo to a T6 based turbo. I'm still undecided. I dont want that big of a turbo........I was hoping if we can use GT42 with the biggest AR available. So we'll see what happens.......

Anyways, here are some photos of the guy from Finland
