new turbo banjo bolt problems

2008 HHR SS 2.0 turbo car has over 220,000 miles new clutch is 5 speed and new timing chain

ordered cheapest turbo available car is my a to b driver nothing special, turbo started giving code, drove till turbo started acting up

turbo oil line #625 block to turbo top banjo bolt problems top bolt #610 same on block and top of turbo, block banjo never touched

my best guess tap run twice into oil feed hole (aluminum) twice at factory, top oil line banjo bolt will not tighten. did not fall into hole but no bite. everything else bolted up fine

went back and forth with seller and have replacement turbo in hand , top banjo bolt hole tighter but not by much on replacement turbo, coolant banjo bolt too big

looking at options to keep turbo on car and find direct line (AN) solution without tapping, lining or helicoil. a metric tapered fitting and or 1000* JB weld paste on threads unlike banjo bolt that would need to be turned to tighten like banjo bolt

have seen generic (AN) oil and coolant line replacement kits don't know where to look to find best solution, have seen extended grip banjo bolts but without a tapered thread would be same problem

will try to post photos when I have more time, any advice appreciated

Compatible is not going to match OEM

Off brand turbo that is compatible and cost under $200 will not plug and play unless you have OEM turbo numbers and vendor has taken the time to post numbers of exact OEM match

The K04 turbo fits MANY car brands, styles and odds of compatible and OEM match less than 20%

Parts stores will not have turbo size banjo bolts in stock and hydraulic warehouse or parts stores DO NOT carry automotive metric banjo bolts. Standard NPT and no off size metric stuff

I ordered what I thought was rock bottom OEM Chinese turbo and banjo bolt never held the threads, was not OEM and they sent 2nd turbo for $40 and was the same, I took turbo off the car and sent both back for full refund and ordered from another vendor

OEM part number match same low cost and surprisingly not from china was British made with balance testing information, decent instructions and a 30 day return with 2 year warranty under $190 delivered

Compatible and a drift racers "stamp of has not blown yet" just a headache in a box with no one understanding the metric banjo bolt bigger than a break bolt

Cheap off brand or named parts CHECK the bolts before you install

oil feed banjo bolt would rock back and forth in hole and vendor could not tell me what size bolt was required to match their part, by the time a mechanic told me correct size parts where back in the mail and I was finished being nice

Compatible = nightmare
