sweet build, ive always had a soft spot for the z31.

good call on the megasquirt. getting people to burn chips for stock ecms sucks, ive been there. thats the reason i put a megasquirt on my old cavalier, and eventually 2 other cars. ive got an ms2 going on my ecotec 944, although if i can get a cam sensor onto the l61 ill upgrade it to an ms3.

I had Nistune for it and it worked ok until I sent it back to them for a firmware update. The update was to fix a stutter the engine would get when the laptop was connected. After the update it never worked again. I sent it back to them 3 times with the same result so I just tossed the JWT eeprom in and called it a loss. Honestly I was surprised at the power it made with that canned tune. It was incredibly rich and conservative.

thats what i found with mail order eproms, either rich and conservative or on the ragged edge and knocking its guts out. i actually got all the stuff to burn my own chips but it was far too much of a pita. sold it all and bought the ms2 kit.

I'm definitely looking forward to what Megasquirt 3 can do. Especially with the Megasquirt Extra. It should run nice full sequential, coil near plug.

A little teaser from this morning. Tomorrow it's going in the car for piping mock up. Then it's coming back out to be finished up. Gotta modify oil pickup tube and some misc stuff.

Maybe its just the pic, but holy hell does that look like a lot of charge piping, I'd be tempted to run a air to liquid setup, you have the bay space for it

I don't know man. South Florida seems to be a but more temperate. I'm way inland no sea breeze or anything for me.

It's really not terribly bad. Maybe 2.5 ft from turbo to ic then 3.5 from ic to throttle body.

I am inland no sea breeze here either. I am more central Florida a few hours south of you a few hours north of Miami.

Heavy duty clutch fork upgrade

Oil pan mods

Modified pick up tube

Did you have to modify the oil pickup to deal with the oil movement in the pan?

I'm using the VG30ET pan and pickup tube, so I had to modify the pickup tube to fit the VG33 pump location. Once that was done had to cut some clearance into the pan for the new tube to sit.

Good question. I'm not sure. I imagine a couple months before it's ready to be beat on.
