So I was reading another thread here on the trusty cobaltss.net forums where all the N/A people were posting pictures of their cars, and I found that all of them had smooth front bumpers, just like the SS S/C or T/C.. smooth as in there aren't any designs or bumps around the fog lights.. WELL, on mine, I have the N/A rear bumper, but the LS front bumper because the people that worked on my car last (deer my gf) said that the normal SS bumper doesn't fit.. I have the 2.4, so it's the smooth bumper supposed to be on it, or is there some weird "half year" thing that only so many cars had that option..?

 

you should have the same bumper as the ss/sc and ss/tc minus the lip

Ha.. wow. Okay, I've been had! Thanks guys! So the lipped bumper only fits the LSJ/LNF models, or will it fir the LE5 too..? I don't know how the internal structure looks so I thought I'd ask the pros at

 

all the bumpers are interchangeable except for the sedan rear and coupe rear can't be switched. the sideskirts are also different from sedan to coupe iirc. You can add a lip to the 2.4 bumper but you have to cut slits for the tabs on the lip. I believe they are marked on the inside of the bumper where to cut.

I guess I already have the SS bumper on.. (hold on) since the accdt, the bumper hasn't been painted yet which is fine because the car is black and so is the bumper.. The part that confuses me is the part that the fog lights go into, that plastic piece that surrounds the light.. is like a huge rectangle opening.. see the link below.

The opening where the fog lights go is the part that got me thinking it was an LS bumper.. so is that a normal covering, aesthetic molding that fits in there.. like the SS gets the concave smooth one, and the LS gets the ribbed/corrugated flat covering??

This is the SS/LTsport Bumper. yes there are "grooves" for the fog lamps, but there smooth and flush lookin, you have those ugly slots for the plastic "grates" and foglights to clip into.

I put the Lip on my car since that pic and let me tell ya its like the icing on the cake lol

I do, but they're shitty pics, I put it on right before winter hit so I dont have any nice shots, this summer I'm taking new pics with the Black tails/zen bumper etc etc, but just look at any Cobalt SS S/C or T/C and it looks exactly like that.

RK sport looks ok, but the SS T/C 'n S/C bumper looks WWAAYY better, especially if u already have the 2.4 Skirts/rear bumper, lol go back to the people that worked on your car last and tell them to give your God damned bumper back lmao!
