Antenna

I dont know about everyone else but I hate the antennas on these cars, they're huge! I wante d to get a smaller one and Ive been to autozone and they say there isnt one for my car. I have an 2006 ss/sc. Can anyone tell me where to get a smaller antenna or a way of taking it off and covering the screw up or something??

any GM threaded antenna should fit... or get a universal one... or pull the ball off the top, cut the antenna in half and glue the ball back on... at most this is a $15 mod

Hmm ok Id rather just take it off all together, but then unless I got something to cover up the screw I would have to get it totally taken off and painted and ya not worth it.

Just cut it and get a valve stem cover for like 10 cents and many members find this looks alot cleaner

i've had mine, hadn't had a problem... and why would you really need to take it off?? i'd rather have it stuck on than fall off on the highway...

the original... and still the best...

many colors and patterns to choose from... don't buy one of those cheapo rubberized ones! Get something that looks really good.

Here is where I got mine it is for the Corvette but it fits perfect and looks sweet. It is 8" and comes to just a bit higher than the wing.

I would suggest driving around for a while with it off before deciding to get rid of it completely. When I was looking for an antenna mod, I took my huge one off as a test to see what the reception was like.

I had good reception for the most part, but as soon as I got near groups of cars, the reception would just drop right to ****, I assume because they had antennas which were picking it up easier? I really don't know why....

Anyway, it didn't take more then an hour to realise I needed some form of antenna on there. I went with AntennaX, but I'm still waiting for shipment, so I can't review it yet.

I got mine from antennax and it seems just fine. It fit good and the reception is as good as the normal antenna.

y are you spending the money to ship an antenna... Autozone, PepBoys, Advance Auto Parts, hell even Wal-Mart sells many styles/sizes of antennas, the universal kits have multiple adaptors so it will fit.
