They aren't legal in the majority of states. I promise you.

Anyone got any opinions on the premade "plug and play" (except the wiring of halo's) kits?
Obviously a retrofit is always going to be the best way of doing, been looking into doing one myself, but I'm just curious about the premade housings with everything already there.

You're saying they aren't legal without the proper projectors, right? Not that HID's in general are illegal.

We've had alot of owners swap to us from DDM or VVME for the fact we back our products after they wouldnt warranty theres and wanted them to pay for them. we ship on OUR dime and we dont ask for the defective parts back. Simple picture. Plus our customer service is great!

Ya that's what I've got, and what the buyhids.com gb was for. They're a great start to retrofit projectors, and are very easy to install. Obviously hids themselves are legal, many cars come factory with them. He meant hids in reflector housings, which are technically illegal because they are not dot approved to have hids in them, although you more than likely aren't going to get pulled over for them unless you have them aimed poorly.

I've had vvme and ddm kits for over 3 years now without problems.
The vvme kit is in my Ducati, and its always under heavy fluctuations in charge cycles. Never had a problem. Not bad for a cheap kit.
x2 DDM running strong in the headlights and fogs

The actual full headlight fixures? Or are you just referring to the retrofit kits?

I would like a real answer to this. I read of people bad mouthing other kits/companies and pretty much sucking up to vendors as to hopefully get a kick-back. A side by side comparison would be nice. Crack a few components open and show me. Split a ballast, compare connectors, compare bulbs side-by-side, submerge them in water, show me color temps and how long the last, SOMETHING tovshow me where more than double the price is warranted.

I got the retrofits from buyhids.com and I'm really happy with them. My cop friend told me he only writes tickets if they aren't sealed in the housing. But it's different laws everywhere.

I've driven with Hids in my car since I was sixteen I'm 22 now I've been pulled over multiple times . As for install half hour tops . Plug and play. I've been buying Hids off eBay everytime but the only downside to that is the quality every six months or so one will not turn on right or one will go out completely. As for laws I believe the highest you go is a 35 watt kit anything more is illegal. I'm looking around now for a more expensive but better kit. A local shop sells and installs them for 250.00 and guarantees them to not mess up. Quality here is key for me now. And bi xenon is the only way to go. Unless you get a standard kit and aim them up between low and high range but nobody likes to meet you on the road when you do that. Idk just some info to think about.

And no questions about them or tickets and such when I've gotten pulled over.
