Brand new K2 Motors LED coupe tail lights not working- any suggestions?

Well, finally went ahead and got these after wanting them for a long time. Even ordered the requisite resistors.

Before I even started messing with the resistors though, I wanted to do a basic test to make sure they worked.

One odd thing I noticed is that the connectors on both lights have three pins, whereas the lightbulbs have four pins on their connectors.

Next odd thing I noticed was that the connectors did not really want to fit into the sockets. Took a bit of force. Likewise, when I needed to take them out, I had to get some pliers to get a good grip on it and give it a tug.

Besides those two little niggles, everything seemed fine. Hooked up in a very common sense way.

But then I turned on my headlights, and got nothing from the tail lights.

Turned on the hazard flashers, got nothing from the tail lights.

Unhooked them and hooked the stock tail lights back up. They worked fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks for taking the time to look, but that wasn't the part I was referring to. The picture you took is where the wiring harness from the car plugs into the bulb socket thing. I'm referring to where the bulb plugs into the bulb socket, or (if you have K2 motors tails) where the tail light plugs into the bulb socket.

The three pin vs four pin part I'm referring to is where the bulb plugs into the bulb socket. The bulb has four pins on it. The K2 motors lights has a connector that plugs into where the bulb plugs into- mine has three pins. Not sure if that's a problem or not.

I'm in class right now, but I'll take pics as soon as I can. Hopefully a few hours or less.

Honestly, I'm not sure what you mean. I never messed with any bulb or anything. They came just like in my picture and I plugged the wire harness in.

Did you try flipping the connectors both ways? They only work one way.

I found this picture from mkulrey13 in his how to thread on hooking these up.

I edited in the red arrow to point to the part I'm talking about. That grey part plugs in to where the stock bulb goes. The bulb has four pins, the grey connector has three pins. I was thinking that might be the problem. Or maybe it's supposed to be like that.

My LED Taillights wont work, what do I do?

Put on the stock ones you ricer ahaha

The only issues ive had with car lights have been fixed by rotation of the connector or the R+L side hardware OR just making sure you dont have a running light plugged into a break light or something silly.

Oh I get what you're saying now... I guess I forgot about that part.

That's really weird, it should be a good match up, they're all the same I would think

I did not try flipping the connectors around. Thanks for the suggestion, that's a good idea. I'll have to try it both ways and see if I get a result. Unfortunately I won't have time today, but I'll try that tomorrow and report back here.

However, the way things turned out, best case scenario it will only work on the driver's side. Apparently when either shoving in or prying out the connector, it raped the bulb socket on the passenger side light. The passenger side tail light bulb comes on when the headlights are on, but when you turn on the blinkers or hit the brakes, it doesn't light up. I replaced the bulb twice and it had no change, so I'm assuming it's the socket. I'll have to check out eBay or something and get a new one.

Just an update:

I hooked up the driver's side and it works perfectly. So apparently yesterday, just by bad luck, I happened to hook up BOTH tail lights with the connectors the wrong way. There's no indication of which way goes which way, so if you're having problems, try it both ways.

Thanks to those who suggested that.

When I get the new bulb socket for the passenger side, I'll be sure to post pictures of the tail lights wired up and working correctly.
