I don't really know much about HID's, but cheap isn't the way to go to get them to work/look right. I think you'll need projectors to make them work best.

im just trying to find the factory headlights so i can paint a pair and not be out a set of headlights if i mess up. my question was who sells the factory chevy headlights for the cheapest?. i dont want to buy projectors because i hate the way they look on our cars. many people run hids with the stock housings and they work fine. in fact i hav my hids in my stock housings right now and they look sick without very much glare.

Since you are going to pull them apart to paint, just pull the amber cover of the other side and use amber bulbs. Or use the bulbs that look silvery when off, amber when on.

And HID's in the stock housing? No high beam? Not in my dark rural roads with mucho wildlife world but your call there.

i really like the amer corner covers tho with black housings. im thinking about just saving money and painting the ones i hav on now, but if i could find a pair of factory ones for cheap i would be all over getting them to paint just to make sure i dont mess anything up. also i do hav high beams in the stock housings with the hid kit i ordered. i kno alot of ppl cant get them to work in the stock housings but my hid high beams work fine and are bright as hell

Ah, didn't think anyone actually liked the way those looked, my bad there.

Are the hid's you got the moving bulb type hid's (9007-3 or 9007-4) or do they have the extra halogen bulb (9007-2) for the highs?
Either way, would love to see what the low and high beams look like on a wall, Hint Hint

Check out the for parts for sale forum, always someone selling their stockers when they go to projectors. Could even check your local wreckers, see if they have any 'Balts or G5's on hand. Got to be cheaper than the stealership
