cobalt ss transformation :)
So after a few days of thinking about it ive decided to share whats happening to my car with everyone here
on april 2nd while going to school i had a small accident. After calling the cops and doing all that bs, i went ahead and stopped at a shop near my fiances house. To my surprise the shop was the one that painted the car to the chameleon color (not the tribals). So after the shop telling me the paint job i had atm was a 6k paintjob and it was going to be hard to rematch the paint. I went ahead and filled the insurance claim. Got enough money to repair what would of worked if my car had the original color, But it wasnt so the shop had to place a supplement that the insurance took 3 weeks to approve for some reason
.
Now that everything is in good standing the shop gave me some options. I could repaint the whole car any color i want or repaint with the chameleon color (1400~ for a quart of paint) and get rid of the tribals. So after some thinking i decided to repaint the whole car (for the reason of the thread i will not disclose the new color until its done lol).
My reason for repainting the whole car was that the paint wasnt perfect anymore (5yrs old ~) and had details such as door dings, rock chips, clear coat was coming off in some parts(not to bad but enough to bug me) and thats because the paint was neglected by the previous owner, but then again you cant beat a fresh coat of paint
lol. So after looks at books of paint i got what i liked and eveything started rolling as of monday 11th. So atm thats where im sitting and just waiting until the car is done but im already loosing my patience
after driving a civic, sentra and a 2015 elantra(rental car) i miss the power already. But nothing else i can do but wait.
So enough talking and lets get to the pics of the progress

Pics from today, as you can see i will be getting rid of the holes for the license plate and be buying a tow hook and bracket from powell

Lol yeah i might just leave it till Wednesday just to make sure it has time to dry or ill take it home and put it inside my garage for another day but at least i woukd be able to drive it also depends on weather
Please tell me they took the bumpers and lips off instead of painting them on the car. as well as removing parts instead of masking. Masking parts is what gives you a shitty paint job.
