They didn't do it to look good. They did it because its a cheap car and the intentions for the car is for saving gas and for people who want a cheap reliable car.

It's not because it's a cheap reliable car that it can't look good out the factory

Making it look better is more expensive. It looks good for what it cost.

since when was the black interior trim panels a factory option? i have a hard time believing that chevy offered an option that would give the car a crappy plastic black glove box or a crappy plastic tan glove box.

Ya it was an option. Some base models and ss/na cobalts come with all black interior from the factory.

ALL SS/NA coupes came black. period, there was no black option for LS/LT's unless you got an LT with the black leather seat, which im not even sure was possible until 2009

and alot of people like Tan, i dont, but it makes the interior feel bigger, because it allows mroe light to reflect off of it.

nope^ SS N/A sedans, a LOT of them were tan interiors, I've never seen an SS N/A coupe with a tan interior though

and they did it to create the illusion of space, I highly doubt it was a cost saving factor( as mentioned earlier), as if black pellets were cheaper than grey.

its just silly, it cheapens the look of a car, and I get it.. its a cheap car, but that kills sales, you want to sell a car for cheap that feels much more expensive, I haven't seen a tan Cruze yet. (yeah I know theres a tan option, but its accented with chocolate browns and aluminums)

i said ALL SS/NA Coupes...

i know the sedans came tan, cause they never made black door panels for the 4 doors, until the TC's

i do injection molding for a living, black and tan are close for cost, black is actually pretty cheap compared to most colors.
