Customized My Fuel Rail cover Fuse Panel Cover

Updated, Fuse panel Cover Now done to match the Fuel rail cover, I like the look way better than the way it was with the gold Fuel rail cover & Black fuse panel cover! I also sanded off the lock & lighting bolt that was on the cover to make it smooth like the fuel rail cover!
I took a old fuel rail cover that I got a couple years ago...as a matter of fact look close & Supercharged is spelled in small letters not caps all besides the S & C.... My car is all caps, but anyway I grinded down the ridges that come on it from factory & smoothed the top which wasn't easy cause I suck at it! I painted the checker flag of course to match the car with Base coat Black & Pearl White.

After removing ridges,

After Primer & Paint & alot of wet sanding!

Now the tape off & layout,

My old 1 with ridges & the new 1 with no ridges.

Now the fuse panel cover the same way!

Before clearcoat

After Clearcoat, It's hard to see the metalic in it but it's there, Pearl white gives it a nice finish in person!

Before Fuse panel!

After Fuse Panel

Very nice man. You easily have one of the nicest looking engine bays of any Cobalt on the site. I wash my engine bay like once a year

Thanks.. I've spent alot of time over the last 3 years on that engine bay & if you look in them shots, I'm going to a show at Hard work in a couple weeks where they are giving out 1000 1sst place, 500 2nd place & 250 3rd place in every class & I want to win!
Plus they are giving 500 for best custom engine!

Nice. As nice as my car is, and as much credit as I receive for it......it just wasn't cut out to be a show car. I just drive it too damn much to even bother showing it. Every time I get it perfect....something else happens to it. Its a never ending cycle.

Yea I know what you mean, I'm lucky mine sits & waits for the next road adventure! I'm lucky I don't have to drive it every day...it would be hard to keep it in show form, plus it gives me time to do what I want without having to hurry & put the car back together so I can go to work or what ever!

A little earlier I was looking at my wifes car>>>she has a 2.4 & you would have to make some kind of mounting bracket, there isn't much to mount too!

Me 2 ....I wanted to try & do something different instead of just buying a metal 1! I've had this cover laying around for about 2 years & said what the hell, I even painted the bolts to match.
The fuse panel cover will be done in a few days!

if you unclip the fuel line you can remove the clips and then there are the 2 holes you use stock

I started with 400 to get it smooth after the primer I used 1000....Then after painting I used 1500 & 2000 grit very litely so you don't sand thru the paint, Once it is cleared I used 2500 grit between coats!

Yea I was looking at that last night on a polished 2.4 cover That I got in the garage it might work. When I get a chance I will check into it alittle more for ya!
