ok, so i know this was covered somewhere, i looked until about page 14 and gave up... is there any reason why the plastic covers should or should not stay on?? is there any harm or benefit of leaving them off?? any help on this would be awesome... thx guys

 

from what i what i could tell when i asked is that it serves as slight sound deadening and to keep you from messing with the engine.

I had mine off for awhile but didn't care for the pithc and tome of the engine. I put it back on and am much happier. Sure looks like crap though but you could take it off if your drag racing. I imagine it traps alot of heat and thats not good at all.

 

yea... i had it off while driving home from work, and i did notice that it was much louder... i think i'm going to put it back on in the morning...

 

The S/C doesn't even have an engine cover. I don't think the engine is too loud but maybe that's because I've never heard it with an engine cover. :P
