"Euro" tail lights on E-bay. WTF?
Speaking of which, does anyone have an idea about how much a Pontiac G5/Pursuit rear bumper would cost? (new, junkyard, whichever). Or when i can get the reverse lights that are on them from?
Pics are in!
Okay folks... I put the tails in this afternoon... took about an hour and a half... really a piece of cake. All you need is a 10mm deep socket and a 11mm deep socket.
There is a subtle difference between the stock and the "euro" tails... something a person that really knows cars would notice. The big lights are flat as opposed to being rounded and the reverse lights are definately different. The red lenses are a little bit darker than the stock ones. I think they look really good.
The clear part of the reverse lights does appear to be slightly egg shaped... but that is an optical illusion. The outside lens is curved and the inside ring is flat... thus producing the funky shape you can see.
So anyways... on to the pics and my mini how-to.

Opening the box... this is what you get.

Two big... two small... yeah yeah.

Just a stock rear shot... to remind any of y'all who haven't lost to a SS/SC in a race.
You have to pop off the little black covers inside the trunk... the two nuts come off with the 11mm socket. Didn't waste time with a pic of that.
When you pull out the stock reverse light... you should reuse the foam gasket that goes around the back of the light. It's got somekind of goop on the back... yuck... but it just pulls off. The foam gasket helps the light seal against the trunk holes... makes it sit in place a lot better.

That's what you are gonna have with the new light slid back into place... looks pretty much like the one you just took off.

The nuts are those lame self-threading things like up on the front bowtie... be careful with them. This is where I hit my first snag... only one of the nuts will go back on... the other post is too small. So I'm gonna have to get to the hardware store this weekend and find some smaller nuts. One will hold it in place fine.
Repeat for the other light.
Now to the big lights.
You need to unscrew the little black hooks that hold in your trunk net.

Pull the matting back and you get this. Two 10mm nuts... and the whole thing slides out. Reverse process to put the new one back in... no foam to reuse here.

That was halfway... if anyone is interested.

And done.
Like I said... took an hour and a half.
I'm gonna give it a day or so just to make sure the lights don't fog up or leak or anything... then the stockers will be up for sale.
Night pics.

All in all... I think it was worth what I spent.
