Feeler for painted headlights

I would like to know how many people would be willing to pay and how much for painted headlights?
The only catch is you have to install them, all I will be selling is the chrome bezel painted to whatever color you choose.
Anyone who has done this will know that it is very time consuming and not very easy to paint.
I have already done this to my car, there is a picture in my gallary for you to see.
I was thinking of a price of $200 Canadian for the bezels and a $50 return if you give me the stock ones back, same principle as buying alternators and calipers.
Before you guys shoot down the price think of it this way.
I have to purchase the bezels, sand them which takes about 3 hours to do it properly
and paint which takes about 3 coats of paint and 2 coats of clear roughly $50 worth of material plus my labour (which is alot cheaper then a bodyshop).
And then take into consideration the price of the E-Bay projectors.
To me it sounds like a very reasonable price.

EDIT
Asking price is now $125 Canadian

I'd pay $150-$200 for a set of painted stock lights... but I want the whole light... not just the bezels...

I think the projectors on e-bay are just too much....

The whole light can be done but the whole assembly cost over $200 for one.
So there is no way you will get them for that price.
That is why I said just the bezels cause I didn't figure anyone wants to pay $500 for them.
It is very easy to take apart and put back together, the time consuming part is sanding and painting them.

To be honest, I'd just get the projectors for the extra $100, $200 is a lil high!

You have a black car try painting red ones and tell me what happens if you don't sand it and also this isn't me doing it with a spray can this is a real paint job with real guns and propery paint and clear which is alot more the $10 woth of material.
To do it properly you use more then $10 worth of wet sand paper.
But if you want to do a halfass job on your car then go ahead.
And $200 is a feeler number it can be lower but come on people think of time involved here $75 is just barly recovering product cost remember i have to buy the bezels.
So say $150 for the bezels then $50 back for your old chrome ones.

ive done red, white yellow aall without sanding and 10$ of supplys buddy. 200$ is wack for something you can do for cheep. even if you sand it it would raise price to maybe 20-30$ after its all said and done.

Oh BTW, mine are not half ass, %&#hole.

Okay say $20-$30 for painting where are you getting the bezel at they arn't free and
i know alot of owners don't want to have their headlights out of commision for a couple of days.

You may no think yours are half assed but not sanding a part before painting it is just asking for it to peel down the road that is all I meant and I'm guessing you didn't wet sand and polish the paint before you cleared it and you didn't polish the clear either and you probably didin't add a flex adgent to the clear to ensure it will never shrink crack and peel.
I'll Im saying is this is a Bodyshop quality paintjob for far less and im doing all the work and fronting the supplies. If im gonna do it I'm gonna make money or why do it?
Anyone who doesn't believe me go to a profesional autobody painter and ask them what is involve in paint anything on a car properly.

And one thing this thread is more directed to the people who would like the mod but don't have the time, skill or resourses to do themselfs. Now tell me you are going to go through all the process and sell them to people for $20. You would want more for your effort wouldn't you.

125??? i mean the brezel is an investment you got to invest some money into your "company" to make money so you might have to eat the original brezel cost until you send out a product, in which youl get my original brezel when i recieve the new one from you

Finaly someone willing to talk and negotiate, not just harp on me.
$200 was just a number I through out there to see what the reaction was.
Everybody always opens high and goes down.
I already have some bezels that are ready for paint.
$125 sounds good but if I'm probably not going to worry about the bezel swich.
Come to think of it that would be a pain in the ass if it wasn't a local sale, sending money and the bezels back and forth.

I had made an offer to a member on this site or another to do theirs for $100 for the entire thing. The process is time consuming but $200 CAD is a bit much. That translate to just over $177USD.

I can def paint it laser blue. Only thing is I don't know if you are aware that the SS/SC have a slightly tinted lens that the other cobalts don't have.
It changes the shade slightly but nothing dramatic. Infact the worst color for this is Red I havent seen it done to Laser blue it would be interesting.
$125 Canadian for the bezels shipping will depend on the shipping costs.
Ohio isn't too far from Toronto, so it should cost to much I can get a quote.
something could be worked out for the retuen of the stock ones but I can't offically sell anything here so Pm me and I'll give you my E-mail.

It seems hard but it is very easy.
The hard part is painting it because of it's shape.

I would love to have mine painted a flat black.... my concern is resealing the unit to not get any condensation inside the unit... the temps here in Chicago have such extremes that I worry about a good seal!! especially if I have to reassemble the unit myself.

BTW,,, I think it's great that you want to offer this service!!
