Gen 4 in Canadian Winter?

Hello! I wanna buy gen4 headlights, but some people tell me that they will crack in winter... Does somebody know if it is true?

NCC-2000 11-12-2011 08:44 AM

No they won't crack.

they wont crack. only cracks the gen 4 get are stress cracks which are only small little lines but they dont effect the out put

They won't crack but they will more then likely fog up with moisture. I put my factory headlights in for the winter just because of that reason.

Never had any issues in the winter with fogging up. The lights are vented so moisture can escape.

YEAH! =D I was not sure about buying them because of that... but I mean... REAL canadian winter like -30 degrees (celsius) and you tell me they won't crack??? =D =D =D I think I've just found my christmas gift ;)

They're vented & my drivers side stills fogs up when there is heavy rain/snow. I even re-sealed it. No clue why it keeps doing it. I even put it in front of a fan for 5 hours to dry it out & it still does it when there's heavy wet weather.

ive had gen 4's for close to a year now. so ive been through a winter. i remember reading a thing from the actual makers of the headlamps and they said that the stress cracks were caused by the type of lens they had and because of them cracking the makers began using a different lens and ever since there great headlights with no problems
