Help removing shift knob

I’m trying to remove the shift knob and it won’t come off, I’ve remove the top cap and the screw And have been using a screwdriver to pry it off and actually ended up breaking the plastic piece u pull up on to go into reverse. I’ve tried 2 screwdrivers like in one of the how to’s here is there any easier way to get this off preferably without breaking it more.

It's a pain in the ass to remove. You pretty much destroy it in the process.

Yea I was praying for a long time and nothing then I went with a screw driver on Either side longways so the knobs bottom was basically sitting on the screwdriver grabbed a home of each end and yanked up as hard as I could not knowing it was already loosened from prying, smacked me real hard haha
