love your Custom blue but how far can you see in front of you?

stage2cobaltss 03-27-2009 06:51 PM

pretty far but i need to angle my headlights up a lil.. its funny cause everyone looks at them drivin by and when a white or silver car drives by it magically turns blue.. haha

Nighthawk243 03-27-2009 08:03 PM

Well... for fog lights... you will get optimal fog cutting ability with 3000K HID (golden yellow).

TheCaptain 03-28-2009 12:55 PM

My eBay gen1 are peeling thou (cant even see it after buffing lens). But I think that happens no matter who you buy them from.

holy hell lost lumens?

metroplex 03-28-2009 07:32 PM

Don't go higher than 6000K. White LEDs are actually about 5800-6200K, you can find them on the Escalade Platinum.

4100K-4300K is about the level of OEM HIDs.

NS06G5 03-28-2009 07:37 PM

What would be better for night driving on a dark highway?

metroplex 03-28-2009 07:42 PM

4100K for maximum usable light output

My Gen 2's also have minor peeling on the driver side due to winter.

For road use, the best light output is 4100 (Or 4300) kelvin temp lights at 55W of power draw (Most kits are 35W, so you will have to look for a 55W kit).

For fog lights... 3,000K has the best fog cutting ability since yellow renders color the best.
