Horrible cluster!!!

Well I am really dissapointed in chevy. For being a hot tuner car that the cobalt is trying to be, the guage cluster is for retards. Its all idiot lights. The only things they have are speed, speedo, and gas. yes thats all you need but it dosent even have a friggin temp guage. Not cool at ALL!

Lol the gauges are one of the cool parts of the car. Digital instruments are the way to go; after all we are in 2004. But I guess its all a matter of personal preference

Welcome to the board dude. :hi:

what do you mean the cluster is digital? I know there is a driver info center but still i would like to know whats going on with the car instead of just a stupid little light that turns on when the car is about to burst into flames.

If your that worried about the gauges dont. You can still add aftermarket parts. It may not be what your looking for but at least its something. So with a HOT car we found one dissappointed thing. And thats just a matter of personal preference. Im still buying it.

I'm sure there will be some nice aftermarket gauges out there for it, as long as they have a clean, stock look I would probably get them.

For a car like this, especially one that's supercharged, I definitely would like to know what's going on. However, I sincerely doubt that even if GM switched up their gauge cluster, they'd have any of the information I was looking to know. I'll probably install quite a few gauges of my own, in time. Oil pressure, Oil Temp, EGT, volt, vacuum, etc. There's a lot of potential with the gauge face to insert a custom template, IMO. It'd be nice if more information came stock, sure, but for me, I'd still be fiddling with it.

Overall, I can't complain about the car. Aggressive exterior, perfect interior (for me) and an incredible, race proven platform (Ecotec). For 21k MSRP, I'll take one; two if I had the extra cash.

Check the GM site yo!

"Instrumentation, analog titanium-faced gauges: includes speedometer, temperature, fuel, tachometer, trip odometer, boost gauge and Driver Information Center. "

That comes standard on the SS, as for the other versions, if you get the base model don't expect anything except idoit lights and if you get more thats good. I guess oil pressure and battery voltage would be nice, but I am gonna whine about it either.

I emailed Gm and there is no temp guage. its a typo. what they meant to say is outside temp in the driver info center. i still hate the cluster.
