How do I take apart the rear view mirror???

Ok so I want to remove the light bulb assembly and put in some LED's I've made. I took the rear view mirror off the windshield and disconnected the wiring, but now I can't figure out how to get the shell off of it... any ideas?? Thanks!

bump!

no one? someone has to know how!?

well when you take down the mirror (keep in mind i have the sunroof mirror, with the lights in it and what not) it's got the light housings as well as the electronics in it. I need to get in there to remove the light housings and replace them with LED's, but I can't figure out how to get the mirror apart. There has to be a way, I mean what if the parts need to be replaced or fixed? I just cannot figure it out!

hmm... all i did was remove the lens and then with a combination of a small pick, fishing line, and and an assload of patience I looped the line around the bottom of the lens and was able to pull it out.

I tried for all of 6 seconds to try and take apart the mirror but I realized I didnt wanna play that game and just popped out the bulbs

Just take the clear lens off, then get a hooked pick and get behind the bulb and pull it out. Yeah, it may take a min. or two but it will come out.

I want more than the bulb though. I want to get the whole thing apart so I can mess around in there. I don't want bulbs anymore, I'm going to remove that and add in LED's

nooner bump!
