I got hit by a curb

Well I was on my way to wal-mart and I was about to turn into there parking lot when my car starts to slip on the ice. By the way it was about 15 degress out side. Well back to my story. So I start to step on the gas so that I can some how take control of the car but that didn't work. So bam the next minute I hit the curb, well lets just say the body of the car is ok but the rim is pretty scratched up. Also for some strange reason the steering wheel is acting funny. Do you think I broke something???

Most likely you bent or broke something, like a control arm, tierods etc....

Sounds like a bent rim. You should get you car in for an alignment check. Have them balance the tires and check the rim runout.

I also forgot to add that my e-brake is not working. What I mean by that is when ever I go to pull it up it feels as if nothing is attached to it.

Full gas full counter lock is one of the best ways to get out of a slide. Well with RWD anyway.

Does the vehicle pull to the side you hit the curb on? You more then likely bent a tie rod. If you beent a tie rod, the rims probably toasted to. That one will be cheap to fix

Why isnt your E-Brake working? And are you guys in Missouri not used to ice and 15 degree weather? Hell the roads a complete sheet of ice here in WI now! We had freezing rain all night last night. It makes for fun driving today! EBrake FTW!!!!

I am not sure why my e-brake isn't working but I am going to the dealership tomorrow to get if fixed also I was checking my oil today and noticed that it is low. I was reading my service paper work and it said they only put in 5 quarts of oil when I got my oil changed last week. Is that right???

2.2 and 2.4 Eco's take 5.0 quarts. 2.0SC ecos take 7.0 quarts of Mobil 1.

I drive a silver ss/sc but I live Kansas City, Mo near Zona Rosa (up north). I had a ion redline before the balt and I can recall it being 7 quarts as well.

5 quarts for the 2.2 and 2.4. For the 2.0 its 6.5 or 7 quarts. The guys driving a 2.0 so he is short a quart or two.

Damn Pirellis! Why don't u just turn it into ur insurance?

As far as ice goes, I stay home...

if you would hgit the curb straight on, you prolly wouldnt have hurt anything. and yes, light accel will help you steer out of it. if you touch the brakes, your fubar'd.
nothing like living in canada to teach you ho to drive in the worst crap.

then again, there are plenty of morons in the bodyshop getting fixed. so i blame the ppl who move here from another country, women applying makeup, and old men wih hats on sundays...
