Inner tailights

How should I go about cracking them open so I can put LED's in them? I'm afraid heat might warp the plastic.

I'm a bit scared about using a drill also. Is there a sure fire way?

What do you need a drill for? Just get some LED strips from Oznium.com and use a hair dryer to heat up the glue and a screwdriver to pry it out. You end up with this:

Hairdryer eh? And you're sure that won't warp the lights?

I got mine pretty hot to soften the glue enough and they're fine.

NCC-2000, are those aftermarket tail lights or did you just get multi-LED replacement bulbs?

If you mean the outer lights, they're from eBay.

I don't know what your secret is but the sealant is tough as can be! I heated the white stuff up pretty good with a hair dryer but a screw driver still fails to pry it out.

P.S. Tell me your secret!

Don't use a normal size screwdriver. I used a small flat head I had laying around, when the glue is hot enough to get just a tad softer, the smaller screwdriver should be able to poke into it enough to start prying it out. It's very tedious, and you'll want to throw the lights across the room after like 10 minutes, but it can be done.

I used a jeweller's screwdriver. Did you remove the black gasket also? The adhesive is ******* gross...

Yeah that gasket comes off too. I'd use something a little stronger than a jeweller's screwdriver just so you don't end up bending the **** out of it.
