You shouldn't flame someone for something THEY want to do to THEIR car.

As long as you hide the tubes well and pick a decent color combo( if you're not getting the multi-colored) I think they will look fine. I've heard zip ties work and I'm sure self tapping screws work as well if you don't put them through something important :D

We recently installed underglow on 2 SS's. Hopefully one of them will chime in, as I didn't do the actual LED placement. As far as the wires, all the LEDs connected to a central box under the hood. Then the control box we mounted in the side door where the trunk button is on the Drivers side. To get thru the firewall you can either cut a hole in the steering boot or next to the boot there is a rubber plug that you can popout. We then wired it to a fuse on the side consol, to the right of the shifter under the glovebox.

I know placing the underglow is tricky in the front do to the lip and trying to get a good spot for it to shine down on. I remember we had to drill holes underneath on the side and used wire ties to zip them up in there.

Have fun with them, but don't lower your car. You may end up dragging them to you're next stop.

I've gone thru 2 sets now. I'm over them. The LED's arent that good anyways, and I had a 500.00 set w/ remote.

MrGriffithDW Jul 10, 2006 12:40 AM

i need some pictures guys just so i know where a good place to mount them as well

ecotecon18s Jul 10, 2006 12:48 AM

the sides really dont matter...the ground effects will hide the tubes perfectly...the rear...pick a spot. I drilled small pilot holes on the flat part of the bottom of the trunk and used the little mounting brackets. that will work for there and the sides. the front...i clipped mine to the top of the black plastic flap...worked good, lit up the whole intercooler/lower grill area. I'll take some pics tomorrow and show you...i have white on my silver SS/SC. After you do about 4 kits you get so fast and used to it that its not even funny...:cssNET:

damnet u just pist me off so much lol then i realized there was more at the bottom. i installed mine so i was like WTF... i drilled mine into the bottem of the bumper in back, onto the unibody on the sides, and ziptied the front onto the bottem of the radiator

MrGriffithDW Jul 10, 2006 08:59 PM

pictures and help on install?

Kemble Jul 11, 2006 02:41 AM

Ditto....

I have the multi color L.E.D.'s as well. I had them on my F-150 for 3 years, now they are on my SS/SC. I used car ramps on the back (cause the front bumper was too low to get up on the ramps going forward). I drilled holes in the metal that comes down about 2 inches where the side sheet metal panel meets the botton sheet metal panel. Then I zip tied them to hold them but not too tight. I them drilled a hole through the floor boards to put the electrical inside and sealed the hole with a hot glue gun. My controller sits between my drivers seat and the center console down by the eBrake. It's prety much hidden unless you look right at it. I'll post pics next time I make it to the store to buy batteries for my camera lol.

Positive=to the battery
negitive=crimp an eyehole onto the wire and bolt it down under a nut on a metal surface

I took the center counsole apart. Hooked my power up to the cigarette lighter positive and grounded the negative by taking one of the bolts that are under the emergency brake off then crimped any eye connector and rebolted the bolt.

xCobalt05x Jul 15, 2006 08:15 PM

i installed mine in about 45 min. but i've installed them for years on my clubs cars so im pretty familiar with the work. i ran the switch threw the firewall. there is already a rubber boot in the wall that you can use as the routing path. the wires for the bulbs i have running under the carrage with the supplied wire mounting brakets and self tapped the screws into the underside. I put them in places that wernt apart of the floor board so that i didnt go into the floor. other then that is pretty simple, well for me anyway. i've had mine on my car for over a year now, about 2 months after i got the car.
