I like it. it might work a lil better with an evo style vent to get the hot air out but i like it. Vents could be alittle bigger as well.

that hood would be awesome if it didnt look like the stick on vents you can get at auto zone. blend it into the hood more and :thumb:

elecblue06 06-13-2008 07:45 PM

any chance at him making it more t like the rally ion hood? i'll have some buyers for that i suspect if that happens

Carbon fiber? Looks like the stock steel hood with some vents in it.

all4glh 06-13-2008 08:46 PM

I just bought a hood from Xcelerated. I would have liked to have more options. Something like these?

http://www.carbon-fiber-hoods.com/en...arget=d11.html

I haven't received my hood yet, it shipped today. I can't wait to see what it looks like and check the quality.

thats the point. In this case for my car I did not want a carbon look I wanted it to look as close to stock as possible. The front emblem will be a decal like the license plate; the vents are from a 95 turbo grand am. They are in the ideal position for best venting from wind tunnel research. They are not so large as to drown the motor if it rains. The idea for me is (where have you heard this before?) form following function- lightweight and vented, easy to install and dimensionally accurate.

Tomorrow I will post the Cobalt hood. It will is carbon clearcoated. These Canadian guys do awesome paint, no fisheyes on the painted carbon (which is a big isssue with carbon) and straight bolt on. Its amazing.

If you want to add your own features, you can talk to Joe at excellerated. Remember ideas are cheap; execution can be expensive.

These carbon guys are working on different style vents, but it takes design, moulds and time. For our Corvette Carbon vented hoods we hand form aluminum vents in our shop. Its time consuming but does the job. Or we can buy fiberglass world challenge style hoods for 2600 bucks somewhere else.

For just under a grand painted and installed this is a great deal. A plain hood uncoated or unpainted is much cheaper...They also do high rise hoods, nasa vented hoods, u name it...lots of Cavalier J body and Ricer Civic/Acura stuff...trunks as well. Even motorsickle gas tanks and r/c speed boats...really talented.

Bottom line? Great work, not expensive...

Thanks for posting them my friend you rock!:cssNET:

so check out my Qwikredline gallery and you can see a Cobalt lightweight carbon vented hood. Its on a black car, natural carbon weave with black vents fogged in and cleared over. I prefer Redlines, but this Cobalt looks awesome... maybe originaladrian can post the pictures on a new thread...thanks:cssNET:

I think you should work with Joe at xcellerated, but try emailing Ryan Ramlogan at "Cf-tec@hotmail.com" he and his partner Mark do all the work...a mould for carbon ducts is the answer but I am really happy with what I got...
