A little help with my decision...

Well, new car.. and I would like to start modding...

First thing I want to do is headlights/hids...

Really, I loved my gen 3's from 3bspec, they were great.. but a pain in the ass to align and get the cut off I wanted...
and seeing as my old balt, I hard wired and relayed the HIDS in, I left the projectors with the car.

Pros:
Projector with cut off made for HIDS.
Looks good on the car, and cut off with anti glare mod is amazing!
Easy to install.

Cons:
Hard to aim, PITA!!
Expensive with the anti glare mod.

Next I was thinking of buying a set of OEM style black headlights off of ebay.

Pros:
Clean look, matches into the car nicely.
Easy install.

Cons:
No Projectors, makes me "one of those guys" if I put HIDS in.
Cheap looking, not sure if they will leak etc..

What do you guys think?

You can just buy another set of third gens and do the anti glare mod yourself. It doesn't take long to do and is pretty simple. Retrofits are nice if you can afford the building price, or afford all the parts to do it yourself, but I'd much rather do it the easy way. Yes aiming them can be a bitch, but realistically it takes less time to aim the third gens than to make a set of retrofits.

Wanted-feel free to resend!

I have retrofits now, but I had the 3rd gens on my car, and they are aimed pretty much perfectly. They are black with 6000K hid bulbs in them...the driver's side light has slight stress cracks on the lense (not uncommon for aftermarket lenses)...if your interested make an offer...all you would need are new ballasts.

Go to sgi and pickup a pair of headlights, i was just there last week, they are tearing down like 5 cobalts / g5s. Then paint those bad boys. That way if you screw up no big deal, and you have a gm pair of headlights, not that ebay crap.
