LS Spoiler

I can get a 2008 LS trunk lid with the small spoiler at a local yard. Same silver as my 2010 base. 1. Will the lid fit? I believe it will. 2. Is there any aerodynamic advantage to it or is it mainly for looks? 3. It's only $75.00.
I'm sure it would make my car look better but I want to keep the aero factor.

#1 If it's from the same body style it will bolt right in.
#2 Nothing worth noting, mainly looks
#3 $75 isn't too bad if it's in good condition(no peeling paint, dents, etc)

Only concern I would have is the matching of the paint. Even if it's the same color, in certain lighting conditions you may be able to notice they don't quite match.

I'm going to pick it up in a couple weeks. This weekend i should be getting the left rear door of the same car to replace my dented one. And the trunk lid is in better shape paint wise than the one I have now.

I'll bet the paint won't match.

Each colour can have dozens of variants. Especially silver.

lol I bet it came from the factory like that. No bumpers will ever match. Silver is the worse.

Most don't match.

The worst are pearl whites. We've had brand new cars off the lot that need repairs and the bumpers looked like a different paint code.

I believe it about the new cars. Bumper covers get painted in different places and all that. I'm ok with some minor differences.

The only benefit of have a black car is that the paint always matches.

Paint won't look the same in plastic vs metal even if painted by the same place

Unless you've got a good painter.

Some guys will even blend into the fenders if need.

I'm talking about factory paint, I've seen them on newer models and you can tell the difference

I have an alternative to the LS spoiler. I had this on my 98 Prizm. Just need some new 3m tape. And painted silver if course.

Ultra Silver Metallic Front bumper painted in Cali and Shipped to CO. Perfect match but the whole car has already been repainted right after purchasing.

That's what was available at the local yard. The only silver cobalt. It's a sight better than the dented original. But thank you for the paint info.
