LOL I drove it to civilization every day. People kept asking me when I was going to paint it. I guess they never saw a flat black jeep before LOL.

The guy I talked to at Home Hardware said he'd get them for me at $18 a can if I wanted 20 or more... I'd be looking at 25 for a whole car. Of course, I'm never rattle canning a whole car to make it look like ****, but that's still ~$450. Not bad.

damn I didnt realize that vinyl could be that cheap... >150$ for everything needed?.... maybe ill try this out as one of my next projects... as my black paint with custom swirls and paint chips REALLY bothers me.

How is it holding up?? I dipped my street bike a couple years ago and loved the way it turned out...

Im thinking of dipping the car matte white or matte yellow in the next month or so...Tired of the swirls in the black and it's a full time job keeping it clean...

Goo Gone will instantly turn Plasti-dip into liquid allowing you to hose it off(won't harm paint either) so everyone saying that it doesn't come off, your argument is invalid.

The only reason im not a huge fan of dipping is cuz it feels wierd and attracts dust way too easy. I will say i love the look on this one though hope it holds up nice

Not bullshit sir. My wheels were dipped for 1 winter. Most of it came off in sheets but I used Goo gone in some areas and it literally turned it to liquid.

Here's this too:

You don't spray it onto a rag. Spay it onto the dip liberally and let it set for a minute.

Either way if you are having trouble removing it you didn't put on enough coats..

My bike was dipped for about 9 months before I took it off (though it was garaged for alot of that) When I removed it, most panels came off in 1-2 pieces max...I think it has been proven that its very easily removed as long as you apply it right...

BTW - Gas does hurt the dip so might want to keep a rag on hand while filling up to prevent drips...

Haters are dumb here, it costs $300. and BULLSHIT a regular person can vinyl wrap a car for $120. I would never want to try and vinyl wrap my car! hard as ****! plastidip is easy and cheap. you can change color whenever you want! why wouldnt you want that. And to Steveo, Why the hell would i spend thousands to paint a car barely worth thousands......no brainer

Theres a reason people plastidip high end cars to, go throw hate over on BMW forums and all the m3/m5's that love their plastidip jobs. Theres NOTHING wrong with it if done right.

i agree ^^ if its done correctly, threes nothing wrong with it. i however would not dip a entire car using rattle can, in fact large areas i would steer clear of rattle, but if you spray it correctly, and prep it right it looks as good as any other paint job!

I like it white, but I also wasn't sure why you went right over all the emblems ^

the emblems I do regret just simply dipping over, i may peel them and get black overlays, because masking off and trying to dip the ss will be almost impossible, as for the goo gone, that is exactly what i used to clean up the car and get rid of all of the overspray, just simply picked up a spray bottle of goo gone and went to work, it cleans the overspray right up. It is holding up really well, its been rained on a few times and washed, and still looks awesome. Thanks all for the compliments and the best part about it, besides the price of the whole project, is that if their is a spot i cannot clean or a knick just 2 quick passes with the can and it all blends in perfect, i love this stuff

*edit-and for everyone saying they wpouldnt do it with a can, it was my only choice, I could not justify spending 70 or more dollars to spray the car one time and never use the gun again, so this was the best option

Has anyone dipped their Balt matte yellow? The only car I have seen that colour is that Yellow/Black GT-R...

I would like to be the first but the white looks so sexy...If I was to do the yellow I would leave the wheels polished...

You get angry at such little things. And yes, that was an ordinary guy vinyl wrapping his BMW. The smart people don't plasti-dip their high end cars.

^People that have no idea what they are talking about **** me off.

WHY do people with high end cars avoid plastidip? Ive seen several high end cars dipped and it looks the same as vinyl and is 10x easier to apply.
