My Fully Dipped Balt, from black to matte white (tons of pics)
It looks really good man, but im questioning why you rattle canned it. Dipyourcar.com has a a kit, 200$, and you get 3 gallons of any basic color of your choice, as well as a wagner paint sprayer. There are videos on that sight that show how easy and durable plastidip is. Personally, i'm doing my car white in the next couple of weeks, but i'm getting the spray gone to do it. As far as close up, for the best results, find a garage, spray it in your garage on a day where the temp doesn't go over 85 degrees. You need to do about 6-8 coats, the more the better. Doing it in a garage will keep pollen, dust, bugs, etc from landing on the paint while its drying. Let the car sit overnight, and it will be completely cured by the morning. I've seen multiple vehicles dipped this way, in person, and they look exactly like a vinyl job, but obviously a lot cheaper. As far as removing it, if you put a lot of thick coats on the car, it will peel off easily. If you have it breaking off easily, you obviously didnt put enough coats on.
I just think its rude that people are bashing how this came out....he spent 7 hours to make his car, for lack of a better word, unique. Even though the dipping craze is going on, seeing cars that are cleanly dipped, like this one, are rare.
Anyways, Great job, ill be joining the dipped car club soon enough

last time I checked a 3 gallon DYC kit was appox. $325 shipped. Cans probably cost him $120-$160 depending on how many he used.
Still is really worth getting the kit, cans get really annoying after a while especially spraying angles (hood/roof)

How is this holding up? I have seen a lot of people complaining about how hard white is to keep clean and ive really been thinking about doing mine white soon..... Let me know!
I would be curious to see how this held up over time. I think it looks amazing for what it is. I know this is an old thread, but I don't understand how people can say it makes it look cheap. If you are talking about the product it's self I doubt you could tell the difference between this and a regular paint job. If he hadn't have told you what it was you wouldn't have known the difference. If you are talking about the fact that it is Matte white, and not glossy, you are obviously out of touch with the times. Matte painted cars are very trendy right now. The idea of the matte paint job is to look low key or stealthy. If you're not into the look of a matte paint job fair enough, but it doesn't make it look "cheap". This notion that just because it is a cheaper option it is a sub par product, or it's "doing it the wrong way" is idiotic. Why is it the wrong way? Because it's something new, and not what you're used too? It is a cheaper option, yes, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. Up until modern times we didn't have enzymes that enabled us to create a coating that could ad here to surfaces like plasti dip does. People are always going to be resistant to things that are new. I just wish they would educate themselves beyond their limited perspective of the world before they nay say something they don't fully understand.
I dipped my rally yellow flat white (I didn't rattle it my buddy is a dyc installer) and it held up fine for 4 months then I peeled it off.(missed the shiny yellow) I'm not sure about the rattle cans holding up but since my buddy does it here local I can say his truck is dipped over a year now and still looks new.
