That would make it so difficult to service/work on your engine.

not really... you can reach everything from the side. there's nothing on the front of our motors, unless you just like to check the bottom of the fan between the radiator and block on a daily basis

that seems to be everyone's concern... but it's just like a corvette man. actually that hood comes further forward than the one on my vette

dude...i have no idea...never looked into it. I figured it would only make sense to be on the bottom since that is where the pan is...and thats where most cars filters are. But hey I guess you never know. I would go look but...i dont have my SS yet. oh well. soon though. go check it out though

well i guess. i mean if the oil filter is top mounted then that means you need to put it on upside down...which sucks cause all the oil you put into the filter before you put it on will go everywhere! bad memories...ugh oil doesnt taste good

Looks kinda cool but would make oil changes too much of a pain in the ass on the ss/sc. It's already tricky enough to snake your arm down to the oil filter cap with a large socket in your hand. Then you have to get at that socket with an extention.

This hood would be a pain in the ass for maintanence.

There is no filter unit you can put oil in. The cobalt uses a replacement cartridge.

I never put oil in the oil filter when I replaced it. My cars ran perfectly fine
