Yes. Fxr are 1 time type of deal. No way to align after it'd installed. I had bad luck with em. The kid who had a redline near me wrecked it after a few days I got the lights and stuff in. My other buddy in NY is always broke and can't come out of his bubble. Can't spend a day at night with the car and lights. after cutting apart the bowls, it's still blows to align them . I even had these for way too long in my possession. I'm usually in and out unless it's an extensive project. Like ur old quad set up. I'm not giving up though. Andrew gave me the ok to eyeball the alignment so I'll be assembling them very soon.
no more fxr redline retros jobs ever for me. No wonder some redline owners refuse the jobs lol. Horrible to aim.

I hate fxr-s with a passion. Simply because of the Shield design on the projector. The shield is flimsy, the mechanism to retract it for high-beam use, non-polarized, and subject to fail very easily. If you open the projector itself to paint parts or install a demon eye it is near impossible to tune back to perfection.

yup this has been known for a good long time now. i actually wrecked a pair of 3 inch fxr projectors attempting to demon eye mod it. needless to say. i use them as guides when making those retros. they are super dusty lmao.

Sucks that you cant take apart d2s projectors either for a 'passive' painted demon eye

You can. There's a series of small rivets that need to be ground off in order to separate the lense retainer from the reflector bowl.
