I love the quads! I have a pair 4Runner halogen projectors I was considering flipping upside down to use as auxiliary high beams in addition to the bixenon but Idk what to do with the turn signals lol

That crossed my mind but I don't wanna rely on halos and led strips as a turn signal. Led strips aren't bright enough in the day and halos are too unreliable

I finally got my retros installed and enough daylight to snap some pics for you guys. I had riceburner build these for me and he and the headlights are awesome! He is great to deal with, always updates progress and does great work. It will probably be best the he chimes in on the setup so that I don't screw it up...... I have left the switchback bulbs out and the led strips reflect in the chrome bowl so well that I don't think I need them at all. Sorry I couldn't get the car cleaned up, but I hope the pics do riceburners work justice.

anyone have problems with the morimoto xb35 ballasts? last night i had a fuse blow in the relay harness, replaced it and it popped right away. unplugged the one ballast and it stopped blowing the fuse, plug that ballast back in and its popping the fuse. seems like the ballast had a dead short internally.

kinda disapointing, ive had a number of cheap $30 hid kits and never had issues, spent 5x that on a big brand name hid set and have a ballast fail in 4-6 hours of use. im sure trs will take care of it, i just hope i dont have to ship the ballast back for warranty cause itll be more than a month till i see another one (im in canada, this time of years priority mail is 2-3 weeks)

I see your point, but anybody outside of these forums will think they're unique and cool.

No. Swap the hid projector for a led based projector. Only led retro viable. Mind you. A banging projector is like 300$+

So I think these Ion redline lights came out pretty boss!

E-46R Shrouds had to be trimmed quite a bit but they look mint sitting on the 3" projectors and crammed into the housings. I cut the holes out in them to let the light come through them...

Then painted them blue to match the car...

Then for further blueness I did 2 blue led demon eyes per projector

Oh plus switchback 3/4 halos (pretty much standard on every build now LOL), led strips and turn signals.

Man those look sharp. Remind me again why GM dropped the Ion Redline instead of dropping the LNF into it?

Car had an outstanding claim for $2000 that was supposed to be fixed the next week, the porta-potty caused another $3000 (Hood, Bumper, Fender, Headlight, Fog Light, Grille + Paint and Labour)

Insurance wrote it off and cut me a check for more than the value of the car in the condition it was in, and about 1k more than market value.

It sucked but it got me out of my base model and into something with more potential. The SS/TC i bought needs some work but nothing that more than the base needed and way more potential. The only thing that sucked was I lost my retros and the TC didnt come with OEM housings (stupid 3rd gens instead), so Ive gotta work on another set of lights eventually. They were good retros for my first attempt too, now I know more about what Im doing.
