paint issues

Ive got an 07 cobalt with some paint issues, the roof the paint is starting to come off for no reason and also I noticed over the entire car i have a gold looking flake in the paint and all the glass, its small little flakes. Im not sure what it is but i have tried clay bar and it doesnt touch the stuff. I can try to get some pictures of it but its hard to see unless u are really close. I have just noticed the flakes all over the car within the past year,Im not sure what to do but maybe have the entire car buffed out?

did you buy it used? If it had repair work done to it any place the factory paint gets cut into and repainted will be the first place to start to rust or peel. As far as the gold looking flakes, could be little chips from dirt on the road and your wax/polish filling the pits, just my $0.02 and a place to start.

yes take it to a reputable detail shop and see what they say. sounds liek it might almost be railroad dust on the paint, but get it looked at

well ive had the car since it had 3 miles on it lol ive owned it the entire life, also theres hardly any railroads around here and i am never near one when theres actually a train coming lol. No repair work has been done to the roof at all,I also know i have 5 year paint warranty, would it be worth taking it in and having them take a look?

i have the same issue with my 06 cobalt if you take it into a dealer they are going to take pictures of it send it into gm and gm makes the decision.. the 5 year warranty for paint which i was told only covers if there is rust starting to form in the the spots it doesnt cover anything else
