Paint under tail lights

Has anyone had the problem where the paint under the reverse lights (and under the tails looks like it may be starting) starts to fade ond start showing metal? If so, what should I do about it?
Thanks

Never heard of it; has your car been in an accident? Sounds like it needs paint work. So the suggested route of fixing it would be to paint

It's never been in an accident. I have a picture of it but I can't seem to figure out how to post it from my phone.

looks like some really hard water sat in that little crevice for quite sometime. Try taking a claybar or some polish to the area. For better results remove the tail light.

I think i saw that on my old basemodel but then again im certain the trunk had been repainted so that might of been my problem. And weather isnt bad here other than 100°F summers

Yeah this is still the stock paint job on the stock trunk so that part shouldn't be it. It may very vell be the heavy rain for so long then it got really hot.
