Painted Calipers and New Goodyear Eagle F-1 G-S D3

I painted my calipers today and got new Goodyear Eagles put on the other day here are some pics. The tires are one size larger (235/40/ZR18) They look and handle a lot better

Are you having any problems with the size of the tire like rubbing or anything?

The paint is a brush on form, so no need to remove the actual caliper...so yes i painted in on the car. As for the silver bracket i removed and used spray paint (bumper chrome, it doesnt come out mirror finish like chrome but just a nice looking silver) As for the trie size i hvae no problem with them scrubbing/rubbing. Not only do the wider tires look nicer both width and height, it seems to fit the rim better than the stockers. I didnt miss any of the caliper, it is all painted, it may be the pic that makes it look unpainted, but then i dont know what exactly you are talking about. Total time was about 6-7 hrs, i took a dremel and smoothed the rough edges off the surfance that would be seen, when i was done with this the metal was very smooth and could have been polished and looked like chrome. i put 5 coats of paint on (as per instructions) cleaned the fender wells and the backside of the wheels. This was just for the front two.

I love the silver portion of the calipers, looks good. And those tires are great, I have 315/35zr17's on my corvette, they have a nice sidewall and tread pattern. I bet they wear quicker than Pirelli's ??

My bro has those on his Jetta and hes going to get many more miles than my pirellis will ever see. They are really nice tires and get great traction in most cases.

Please post in the appropriate section. This is in no way related to the performance of the 2.0L

Use a tire calculator like this one.

That's how I found the right size for my snow tires. As long as the overall diameter stays almost the same, the speedo and odo will both be fine. Larger diameter = slower speedo, smaller diameter = faster speedo.

According to that site, he only changed the overall diameter by 0.2", that's not very much. To quote the calculation from there the speedo is 0.8% fast (60mph on the speedo is 59.5mph in reality).
