Regular Duplicolor spray paint works fine for me. Just about any paint will work, it's all in how you prep.

there is a duplicolor engine enamel....or maybe it is rustoleum(can be purchased at Wal-Mart or any auto parts store)....that I used on my valve cover. It has been on there for 2 years and still looks good. As far as the M62 I have heard mixed feedback about painting it. Some people say painting it traps in too much heat in an area you are trying to force in cooler air. I opted to not paint mine after hearing some of that kind of talk.

Just make sure plastic for plastics and highest temp paint you can get for engine stuff..
I found that anything that has this tip is best

The round solid white one plugs up for me even if i turn the can upside down and spray it out.

Ya spray the 1st coat light. More light coats is better then fewer heavy ones. I looked all over for the wrinkle black but couldnt find it around here but it does look good.

I have the VHT wrinkle black, usually get it from local auto parts stores. I've used the red caliper paint on valve covers before, it works well but it is very thick, so you have to be easy with it.

I don't think the paint is going to hold enough heat to change very much as far as temps.... its not like your covering it in 3 inches of cement so the heat wont escape.... its a thin coat of paint....

as far as what paint to use... how how does the SC get after driving for say 2 hours.... i know after driving for 5 to 6 hours my intake, IM, and throttle body are not hot at all. If thats the case with the SC you pretty much paint it with anything. I think the best would be to get it powder coated.

sanding or scotchbrite, cleaning with laquer or a solvent, wiping with a tack cloth or blow it off if you dont have a tack cloth,DONT touch it once it is in place, oil from your fingers are no good, paint on something so the aerosol in the can doesnt blow up dust onto the wet paint, spray light coats not thick ones, give it a long time to dry, make sure u use primer, fill prime and wetsand if you really want it to be smooth
