For People that have Installed Body Kits...
How difficult is it to fit a body kit myself? I've been told that I have to do some sanding to get it to fit right, but is there an excessive amount required and is it difficult? I am asking becuse I am ordering the Gravana INGS kit (sideskirts and back bumper) and I am going to install it as soon as I get it and I will probably wait until winter is over to get it painted. (yes I know, its rice, but I do not want to ruin the brand new paint because I was impatient).
Yeah bro usually there is a lot of prep work involved with body kits. A little more than sanding. Plus it also depends on if you get a fiberglass kit or a urethane kit.
Fiberglass is harder to get to fit right because it's more rigid. An aftermarket body kit will never fit perfectly....ever! I put one on my '02 Eclipse and it took a couple days with some sanding and heating. I also added extra hardware. You also have to be very careful when mounting because that 3M tape is roothless. Once it's on, it's on! If you haven't done it before and or you don't have a body work background, don't do it yourself. Any body works shop can handle it. Here are a couple pics for the heck of it.
It's a Wings West Urethane body kit. Go Urethane if you can.

x seventy billion!! if you can't paint it yet, then wait to put it on... nothing screams rice louder than unpainted body kit... and believe me, if you wait 5 or 6 months to paint it, you will probably convince yourself that it looks good and never paint it...
