Re-Applying VHT Niteshades?
Re-Applying VHT Niteshades?
Hey Guys,
So my tinted tails are starting to lighten up a little and I want to put a few more coats of niteshades on them. Can I do this without stripping them down with thinner? I was thinking I could just sand smooth with 1500 grit and throw a few more coats on with clear?

mine did the same thing. Actually the other day i just took them out, washed them, and repainted them. Then threw on 2 coats of clear. They look brand new and awesome!! I didn't put on clear before so i'm hoping they stay this time, which they should!
Thanks for the input man! I put 3 coats of clear on last time though so I plan on just wet sanding then reapplying VHT Niteshades and then some more clear! I'll post picts when done of before and after
I wanna see how that happens, because if you use straight black paint on a tail light and shoot 4 coats, you're not gonna see through it. Sorry. Either its clear mixed with a little black or its night shades. But even with the "paint" its not technically paint, its tinted clear. Its not quite the same.
Well can you give me the name of the magical automotive paint that doesnt need thinning to be shot over lights and still let light pass through, because Im about to become rich!!!!!
I wouldn't use anything on the tail light. I've almost got hit multiple times from night shade and mine aren't even dark. Not worth causing a wreck in my opinion. especially if your heading east in the evening. You really can't see the lights at all. I've gotten honked at flipped off and people go off the road beside me. That was enough to take it off.
Yea when i first did mine i almost got rear ended cause it was so bright outside and they couldn't see the break lights come on, if you do it, do like 1 or 2 light coats, just enough to tint them but not black them out.
You should still be able to see red to be safe.
