Spider Lite interest.
I remember back in the day when people were interested in the LED Spider lites. I have contaced them about a group buy and I am just gauging interest here. Here is what they said. I asked them about the double flashing rate for its not cool IMO.
Hello Ryan, Spiderlites like all other replacement LED lightbulbs draw about 10% of the current of normal incandescent bulbs so the car thinks the lights are out and the flash rate doubles. If we put a load resistor in the Spiderlite to increase the current, the heat generated would deteriorate the light output from the LEDs. LED’s light output decreases with increased temperature while the opposite is true for incandescent bulbs. The best solution for the double flash rate is to replace the flasher (A company called Grote has a large selection http://www.grote.com/prodcat/printca...c%20H_F&TS.pdf ). The problem is that a lot of newer vehicles have the flashers built into dashboard electronics. Sure we can provide a group discount. Let us know what sort of quantity you are looking for. Thank you for your interest in Spiderlite. Regards, Antonio So I am hoping that Grote company can come up with something good. I have e-mailed them already and just waiting a reply from them. Heres a pic for those who are curious of the LED lights. They replace the brake/ tail lights. http://www.spiderlite.com/img_home/s...te-gallery.jpg ^ Pic from an 05 cobalt in SEMA. shown with 5MWEDGEA They retial for $44.99 each plus $12 shipping. So after the gauging interest hopefully I can get a better price for us guys. |
Ugly, cheap and overpriced in my opinion.

I saw those a while ago and almost bought a set but changed my mind when I read about having to replace the flasher. SOunds like too much hassle for a set of bulbs

I am interested in hearing about a replacement flasher. In another thread we weren't able to figure out where it is and the dealer couldn't tell me. You want LED's?? SuperbrightLEDs.com. See this thread for more infohttps://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13827.

I think there would be a problem with those not being as bright as the stock bulbs... I say that because none of the LEDs are having light shown on the reflector
