Spoiler Delete

I am wanting to remove the factory ss wing off of my cobalt. I am not looking for opinions of how it would look. I want to see what options are available to take off the spoiler and leave it wingless. I dont want to do the trading trunks method because everyone is trying to do this and would take forever and taking it to a body shop is out of the question. Has anyone visited a local hardware store and found some plugs thats work and look good? or made the own custom delete kit? any pics would be nice!

To resolve leakage, mount with sealant. I just went to a junkyard got a trunk for 120 bucks, (It even had all wiring and lights.) Had it sprayed my color for 100 Bucks. 2 day turnaround. Bam it was done. I think it was worth the 240 dollars and a 2 day wait. I had pugs that I made on the other trunk, but the paint flaked, and I got tired of the holes. Also removing the spoiler, apparently GM tightened it down too hard and caused the spoiler to "dent" the trunklid.

but when we return it it always says "Send to DC" so DC is expecting it. We had a performance exhaust system get "lost" somewhere between the return and sending to DC and they never did anything about it lol. Freaking shady people man...

Yea I used that for a while! but the line kept breaking guess I need some extra tough fishing line but I did notice the two banana shaped holes on each side and was wondering how I would go about covering them

You may be fortunate enough to not have any marks. Just be careful taking it off and you might get away without. Of course you'll still have holes to deal with, two little ones toward the front of the car and then two larger ones toward the back. And the ones toward the back look like ( O ) that kind, it's actually three holes... just look through from inside your trunk and you'll get an idea of what you'll have to deal with.

Again... trading trunks is highly recommended if that is available to you.

Welcome to

Thanks for the welcome And the more I think about it, the more I lean towards just swapping my trunk lid... after looking at it I'm thinking there are more holes than I really want to deal with. That being said, I'd still be interested in seeing people's results -- both dented and not. Who knows... maybe I'll be encouraged to work on it myself, and if it doesn't look good then I can go for the swap.
