Truthfully, you might be better off getting it powder coated. Will look better, last longer and can't be too expensive.

Actualy the tip doesn't get hot enough to burn off the paint like headers do. Clean it good then let it run for a bit till its hot, then spray it. This will bkae the paint on and make it last longer. Also it should knock down any shine cause of it hitting the hot tip.

probably just better to bake it in the oven then paint it. gonna be hard to handle to get it off the car to paint it...

It'd be harder to get the WHOLE cat back into the oven dontcha think? Masking tape and some news papers work GREAT!

Good luck.

Do not cheap or cut corners on prep work. If you do it will come out shitty.

Then just mail it off. You can handle a week without a tip.

haha, GMPP tip is just a tip that clamps on. Plus even if it didnt, and it was attached to the muffler, I am sure you could prob fit that in a decent sized oven. lol.

Terry must be in his "my bmw parts are superior and our exhausts come as one solid piece" mentality.

Get down off your BMW pedestal over there...

Actualy for some reason I thought it was like the stock Cobalt system with the tip made onto it. had nothing to do with over-priced M parts.

high temp powder coating would be a lot better than painting it. No paint is going to stay on

Why? How is it any different then powder coating or painting the stock SS/SC wheels black? It's an added touch. Little details like this set cars off. Pretty damn sure that they OFFER exhausts that come powder coated black.

I think powder coating would work and look better, but I am sure that paint will look good, and they do make high temp paint designed for headers and is rated to 2000*... I think it will handle a few hundred out of the exhaust.

painting wheels = failure unless your like hatrick and can pull it off

90% of the wheels painted look like someone took a can of rustoleum and went to town. Of the 10% that do look good 9% just take good pictures because when i see them myself in person they are chipped up, faded, and just look like trash.

but hey, im sure you can make it look good with alot of prep time and clear coat the **** out of it.
