Stock Shift Knob Mod
Stock Shift Knob Mod
Wanted to do this for a while now. Finally got around to it today. Rainy days are good for something after all. I used the Duplicolor "vic red" lil brush end, filled the areas and wiped it off with a paper towel and nail polish remover. Thought it came out pretty good, the short reverse dot was the hardest to get. Pics were hard to take, looks way better in person.
Enjoy!

Enjoy!

i don't remember the brand. but i just sanded it down. used gloss black as the base, sprayed it all. and then used a 5bristle brush to do the inside. and just rubbed it down with my thumb to get tthe white off of the black.
It actually looks way better now that it has completely dried. But its too dark to take a good pic. I'm kinda thinking it would be cool to fill it with a clear coat so its flush with the top of the silver part. We shall see
where were you guys during myyyyyyyyyyy thread?????

ha, copy cat!!! that was the first mod i did to my car when I bought it. The shifter was missing something. click on my name and then threads started by me and then look for my pic thread. I did that shiz 3 months ago!
I used red nail polish and left the shifter on when I did it. Rubbed my thumb over the top and used my nail to remove the remaining nail polish!

ust get a super small flathead screwdriver and start prying from the very top, and then the bottom left and right corners. in like a peace sign pattern
it comes off easily, but you have to be sure to bring it up vertically or it'll snap the clips. i broke on off. and two seems to be barely enough

well. its actually two pieces. theres the top part, which has the engraved shift pattern, which is actually metal thats already painted. and that clips on to a plastic base, which clips on to the main shift knob body. look in my picture. the area that has the shift pattern on it is area1. the ring outside area1, you can see in the top right its chipped a little bit, will be area2, and area3 is the main shift knob, insert the flathead inbetween area2 and 3
nvm look at his pictures. the first two pictures is what you're gonna pry off of the main shift knob
