There are two good tint shops near my area. The one tint shop charges 20 dollars more for my car to get tinted then the other tint shop and said they will tint over the dot matrix but won't put vinyl. They use llumar film and have machine that cuts the film perfectly for the car. The other place is a graphics place. They are 20 dollars cheaper and use johnsons films. They said that they will put the vinyl over the rear window. Will the vinyl fade over time? Which place do you think I should go to?

I've never heard of llumar, but I know Johnson Films are very good

 

I would never go with a shop unless they offer lifetime warranty. The film is lifting off the dot matrix on my sisters cobalt and they fixed it no problem

 

they both offer lifetime warranty. but i worried that the black vinyl might fade?

 

in that case....I'd probably try the new stuff out.....it wouldn't hurt, plus if you have any problems, they'll fix it

does anyone have pictures of rear dot matrix after it was tinted over? i would prefer to go to the shop that does the llumar tinting but they said they won't put vinyl over the dot matrix. They will only tint over it.

 

where are the places you are talking bout? cuz i got my car tinted in nanuet or you around that area?

 

no i'm near the albany area. Im talking about tint king and some infamous place. Also I was thinking about getting a sun strip but looking at other car I don't think it looks good due to the martix dots near the rear view mirror.

 

i just looked up what tint the place i went to use's and it is llumar and they also use the computer to make the cuts. i the top of my back window where the dots are came out great, there may be 1 tiny unnoticable bubble in the window and whole car

 

oh really thanx.. how has ur tint held up? any fading?
