...yea well DOT required red reflectance in the rear or the vehicle, usually done via tail lights, those clearly do not have red reflection and could also get you a ticket.

I ask him what if I did a light coat he said he would not risk it, he said he wants to tint his taillights too but too paranoid about getting stopped for it.

You will be pulled over more with those tail lights as they do ot have red reflector then tinted tails. Tint them like mine, Its illegal here but i have no problems because it still reflects red. Heck i may even sell them to you. PM me

...meh I'd risk it, odds are unless you drive like an ******* and they are not blacked out they will leave you be. If you do get in trouble its "fairly" easy to remove the nightshades.

Don't be put off by one body shop guy, do what you want.

I have mine done but they are more "smoked" then tinted so they still are very reflective/bright but just don't have that POW! bright red when you look at the rear of the car.

Ive had mine tinted for months now.... the trick is to niteshade them with a few light coats..... they tll will "reflect red"....... just not nearly as much as usual, but it still sufficies....... check my cardomain
